Bret, it seems as though you and I share the same imagination albeit coming from different experiences. Groucho's ashes turning to notes! UH!

Excellent, who better to be a satirical counterpoint to Trane than Groucho. Strive, Fail, Laugh, Repeat. A recipe for survival, here (hear) and beyond.

Funny you should mention. I asked ChatGPT for God's email:

God doesnโ€™t use emailโ€”He prefers burning bushes, whispering winds, and the occasional dream sequence. But if you absolutely had to send a message, try:

Sent a clear notice of payment due to the address you suggested. We'll soon see what kind of God we're dealing with in the billing department. If s/he doesn't send bread, maybe as a sop I can get my name above the title,

twice the size.

Wonderfully funny! Many thanks, and just what I needed after five months of t's horrors.

On a serious note, perfectionism has been the bane of humanity. A passage from one of the gospels has Jesus saying, "Be perfect, as your father in heaven is perfect." Little minds took the word "perfect" and made it mean painfully striving for impossibility. A number of more thoughtful commentators retranslated "perfect" as "compassionate." And for me, that's a perfection I can strive for, no matter how often I flop absurdly.
