On a serious note, perfectionism has been the bane of humanity. A passage from one of the gospels has Jesus saying, "Be perfect, as your father in heaven is perfect." Little minds took the word "perfect" and made it mean painfully striving for impossibility. A number of more thoughtful commentators retranslated "perfect" as "compassionate." And for me, that's a perfection I can strive for, no matter how often I flop absurdly.
