I was preparing next Monday’s post, about Orrin Keepnews and somehow pushed the wrong button.
My apologies if you received the half baked post, which is going to feature a number of episodes from my 2007 series, Orrin Keepnews, Producer. It will be published, God willing, next Monday.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I promise I’ll be more careful.
So to make up for the damage, here’s one of the episodes, Saint Monk, that tells the story of how Orrin developed a working relationship with Thelonious Monk. Next week, more episodes from the series, featuring a number of classic jazz recordings.
Orrin's run of five star McCoy Tyner albums in the 1st half of the '70's was simply unbelievable.
Enjoyed a few meetups with Orrin Keepnews in San Francisco in late 80's before returning to NYC to focus on Authentic Marketing Jazz inspired by Orrin's success with "Swing-Jazz" musicians.
