I had completely forgotten about Tony Scott's amazing record. Absolutely correct, Bret. Breathe, slowly, use your entire lungs, top to bottom. Use your abdomen as a handle, like a bellows. Just take it slow.

Sound advice for those in the race! That is one thing, thank god, I left behind when I got clean and sober at the age of 30, when I could just be myself and not have to pretend that I didn't do all the ridiculous things I did. I remember once saying, when I was still on the alcoholic treadmill, "All I do is fuck up and clean up." And so it was.

That was more than 50 years ago.
